Prof. Akwasi Afriyie Achampong is a globally recognised physician, accomplished entrepreneur, and dedicated philanthropist with over 25 years of experience in medicine and healthcare leadership. As Founder and President of Baldwin University College, he brings a distinguished career spanning clinical practice, institutional governance, and humanitarian service across multiple continents. He obtained a BSc in Pharmacy from LIU Brooklyn followed by his medical degree at NYITCOM. He completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center and is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine. He is Medical Director and owner of Elmont Medical, PC in New York, Clinical Assistant Professor at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, and sits on the Board of Trustees of Xavier University School of Medicine in Aruba. Prof. Achampong served as Board Chair of the Ghana Standards Authority (2017–2021), spearheading a landmark institutional transformation that resulted in the Authority achieving full financial independence alongside significantly enhanced service delivery and quality assurance standards. He is also founder of Unique Life Inc., a Licensed Private Pilot, and was recognised among the 100 Most Influential Persons in Africa in 2024.
